Social Mobilizers Coordinator

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Review all the SM implementation plan for RCCE and COVAX and old SM result (coverage, Hard-to-reach areas, refusal) to SM during the campaigns and extract lessons learned for.
  2. To ensure coordination and collaboration with other sections Governorate level coordinators.
  3. Identify and maintain an updated list of potential communication channels that could be used to disseminate, to the target audience, information about the Key message of vaccinations and RCCE physical and digital approach,
  4. Prepare and submit an annual capacity building plan targeting sub-districts SM with monthly updates on the progress and gaps.
  5. Ensure that the SM and communication strategy and agreed-upon activities are implemented using all agreed channels for the RCCE, vaccinations,
  6. To ensure proper management of the SM activities and RCCE program at the organizational level.
  7. To ensure smooth functioning of the COVAX, EPI, Polio, and RCCE communication activities.

C4D for COVAX, EPI, Polio and RCCE interventions for COVID-19:

  1. To ensure monthly C4D RCCE plan for the filed staff that includes COVAX, RCCE for COVID-19
  2. To ensure proper supportive supervision to the field staff (SM) working on COVAX, EPI, Polio, and RCCE for COVID-19.
  3. Put in place appropriate social mobilization strategies to address vaccine refusal, hesitancy, and low uptake of vaccination. Explore opportunities to establish networking and partnerships.
  4. Through various means, regularly document reasons for low vaccination coverage that would be influenced by advocacy, communication, and social mobilization interventions.
  5. To ensure weekly reporting of C4D RCCE physical/facility-based approach and COVAX for the COVID-19.

Supportive supervision and Capacity building:

  1. To ensure proper sensitization and orientation of the field staff on COVAX, and the Physical and digital C4D RCCE initiative.
  2. As a trainer, contribute to the facilitation of training sessions on C4D and communication technology and methods especially cascading training inside Syria.
  3. Carrying out supervisory rounds for social mobilizer at the sub-district level periodically to follow up their work, correct their mistakes, and train them to implement the activities in an optimal manner.
  4. To ensure proper orientation on the COVAX, and RCCE IEC materials to the social media handlers.
  5. To ensure the orientation of all the field staff on the use of PPE.

Networking and Partnership:

  1. To ensure proper networking and partnerships with other organizations, faith-based institutions, and CBOs.
  2. Identify and maintain a list of influential potential partners at community levels that would contribute to the social marketing of immunization services,
  3. To ensure an updated list of all the institutions, schools, health facilities, council offices, religious institutions, refugee camps, with their contact details.
  4. To ensure weekly coordination mechanisms (online/physical) by the field staff and community heads in their assigned areas.

IEC:

  1. Support to develop IEC materials through (Display IEC on groups of parents and assess parents' acceptance of these materials) and support to develop the distribution plan for IEC materials to Sub-district SM and EPI tea
  2. To facilitate and assist in the preparation of C4D COVAX, RCCE IEC for the COVID-19.
  3. To ensure sub-district level IEC microplanning for the good visibility of COVAX, and RCCE IEC
  4. To facilitate distribution and display of IEC materials in the field and reporting on the same.

Documentation and reporting:

  1. Document and disseminate success stories and best practices.
  2. Provide data, analysis and reports on social mobilization opportunities and activities as well as reporting on relevant SM/C4D for COVAX, Immunization and RCCE indicators
  3. To ensure weekly physical and digital C4D RCCE activities on KOBO based online application.
  4. To document suggestions and feedback from the field and share the same every week.
  5. Share updates on daily basis during the vaccination activities.

Social Media/Digital C4D RCCE interventions:

  1. Monitor and collect information on social mobilization activities implemented on the ground.
  2. To ensure implementation of daily/weekly C4D RCCE social media plan including COVAX.
  3. To ensure proper supportive supervision to social media handlers and filed staff working of C4D-RCCE and COVAX for COVID-19.
  4. To ensure weekly reporting of C4D RCCE social media promotion for the COVID-19.

Qualification, Experiences and Competencies:

  • A Bachelor degree in with minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position and duties in NGOs or INGOs.
  • People management skills that include diplomacy.
  • Ability to work with diverse people, communities, and cultures, with an understanding of cultural awareness practices.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Verified experience in humanitarian work and principles.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent skills in English and Arabic.
