Senior Finance Manager in Central African Republic

Position and responsibility: The Senior Financial Manager, as Head of the Finance unit, is responsible for all aspects of overall financial management of the client in Central African Republic (CAR). He/she is part of the Senior Management Team and reports to the Director Country Office and functionally to the Corporate Controller in client’s home country. He/she works closely with colleagues based in the CAR office, sub offices in the country and the Finance Team at the Global Office in the client’s home country.

General objective of the posting: The Senior Financial Manager is responsible for all the bookkeeping, the financial accounting and reporting for CAR. He/she is responsible for managing the accounts receivables and payables of the organization with the support of the finance team comprising of 2 Project Controllers, 1 Accountant, 1 Cashier and 1 Financial Controller. He/she will develop the organization’s budget, oversee the preparation of financial reports and will be involved in directing financial processes in country.

Qualifications and skills

  • University Degree in financial management (a Bachelor or/and a Master’s Degree are acceptable)
  • Working with an INGO is desirable;
  • Happy to roll-up the sleeves, takes initiative and leads the team from the front
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong organiser of one’s own work (knowing how to prioritise);
  • Strong team management and communication skills;
  • Diplomatic, culturally and environmentally sensitive, result-oriented, innovative and a strong team player;
  • Fluent French and good English writing and communication skills;
  • Work experience in fragile, stressful settings;
  • Sensitivity for the environment: Be strong in adhering to procedures, compliant to regulations but also be capable in working together with different levels of hierarchy and different persons with different backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in financial software including Dynamics AX, Pastel/ Sage is desirable.
