1- Background:

Since 2012, LWF Jordan country program, with funding support from various related agencies and donors, has been responding to the Syrian emergency following the eruption of Syrian conflict 6 years ago, which led to a huge number of displaced populations, including over 650,000 refugees into Jordan.

The LWF has continued playing an active role in the coordination of emergency response including UNHCR led sector working groups. In addition, LWF is also an active member of ACT alliance at country and regional level.

The LWF Jordan program activities focuses on the sectors of protection, basic needs, life skills, education and shelter in the governorates of Mafraq, Irbid, Zarqa and Amman.

In 2015 LWF implemented protection and psychosocial support projects with an emphasis on livelihoods in Za’atari refugee’s camp and within the host communities. This included training of beneficiaries on life skills and targeting Syrian refugees and host Jordanian communities.

LWF has received a 4 years’ grant to expand its education activities in the governorates of Amman, Zarqa. This project will focus on capacity building of school staffs on mutually agreed thematic topics with the MoE .

2- Duties and Responsibilities

The consultant will develop the trainings for CBOs in Irbid and add the saving and loans topic to the current training curriculum. While she/he is responsible to held awareness about saving and loans. she/he responsible to prepare the agreements, and the need must have to make sure that the project concept will followed and implemented.

3- Scope of Work

  1. Conduct the saving and loans training sessions for the beneficiaries in both Area Za’atari camp and Irbid.

  2. Review the HBB training curriculum in addition wrote the training parts (saving and loans.

  3. Held awareness in Irbid and camp about the subject matter.

  4. Write a report to include lesson learned or/& recommendation for future projects.

  5. Create & provide tools and material that is needed for the implementation phase to monitor and follow up the on the project idea.

4- Expected Outputs and Deliverables

the consultant will do:

  1. Review and amend as needed the HBB materials and training curriculum.

  2. Draft and submit the final narrative report includes consultant recommendation about the project.

  3. Provides qualitative and quantitative reports (needs more specification).

5- Indicators to evaluate the consultant’s performance

Performance indicators are:

  1. Structure the saving and loans system within refugees and vulnerable people in the host community.

  2. Conduct the training and draft the training curriculum (saving and loan) only and add it to the current training tools.

  3. Provide templets to support the LWF team on the project follow up and project monitoring.

6- Contract and Duration

35 - 45 working days spread over 3 calendar months. The successful candidate should be able to take up her/his duties as soon as the contractual documentation has been finalized.

7- Duty Station

Lutheran World Federation Jordan, main duty station is Amman with frequent travel to Irbid and Za’atari Camp.

Transportation between LWF offices and other training places will not be provided by LWF.

8- Qualifications and experience

Essential:

· Professional qualification in related subjects.

· Proven experience of delivering assignments of similar consultancy / work nature.

· Legal knowledge of loans in Jordan.

· TOT skills.

· Excellent communication skills.

Desirable:

· Knowledge of the teaching atmosphere in the formal school education sector in Jordan.

· Prepared draft on “The Teacher Model” and adapt the material with the existing needs.
