Editoral officer

Sightsavers has an exciting new opportunity for an editorial officer to join our dynamic and busy communications team.

Salary: £30,000 - £33,000 – depending upon experience

Location: Haywards Heath, remote working until further notice

Contract: 12-month fixed term contract

As editorial officer you will report to the editorial manager and write, edit and proofread copy, as well as project manage editorial jobs for Sightsavers’ policy and programme strategy directorate as part of the PS2 communications team.

About you

You’ll be able to spot a typo at fifty paces and will be quick and accurate at proofreading and editing documents to meet Sightsavers’ style guide. You’ll support colleagues to turn sometimes dry, jargon-heavy documents into engaging and compelling blog posts, case studies, news stories and reports.

You’ll be a well-organised and detail-oriented project manager who can keep on top of multiple jobs at once (both through our service desk ticket system and across the campaigns and communications team), and make sure they’re completed on time and to budget.

You’ll be comfortable building relationships with people throughout the organisation in the UK and around the world, being considerate of different time zones and the country contexts colleagues may be operating in.

You’ll be confident using (or keen to learn) Word, Acrobat, Excel, PowerPoint and Photoshop, and happy to contribute ideas to creative sessions with members of the campaigns and communications team.
