The Vanuatu Education Support Program phase II (VESP II) is an Australian government funded program, in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Training of Vanuatu (MoET). VESP works with the Ministry supporting the implementation of early childhood and primary education activities aligned to the three strategic pillars of the Vanuatu Education and Training Strategy Sector:
- Increase equitable access to education for all people at all levels of education.
- Improve the quality of education
- Improve planning, fiscal and financial management
The ICT Adviser will develop a plan to create an online system to register all teachers in Vanuatu, working with the IT Unit and the TSC to select the most suitable approach. The Adviser will also review and draft an IT policy and a three-year costed implementation plan. The policy and plan will include a strategic approach to strengthen education sector data collection for the Ministry’s Open Vanuatu Education Management Information System (OVEMIS).
Furthermore, the Adviser will support the ICT unit staff to develop their knowledge and skills, either by direct mentoring, structured learning sessions or by advising on courses and activities which staff may undertake.
To be successful in this position, you will be degree qualified in ICT or a related field. You will also demonstrate senior level experience using data management systems and developing human-centered ICT systems. Additionally, you will possess previous experience developing ICT policies and conducting large-scale data collection.
You will possess excellent English written and oral communication skills, a sound understanding of the Vanuatu environment and will be willing to undertake travel within Vanuatu as required.
