Young Peacebuilders (YP) nurtures peacebuilding passion and skill in children and youth in conflict-affected contexts. In this way YP helps prevent and end cycles of violence. http://youngpeacebuilders.com/club
Purpose:
Review existing and planned YP training tools, recommend appropriate e-learning platform most suited for YP training, develop YP e-learning implementation plan, and adapt mostly existing tools into training modules and assessment tools to support adults and youth 11-18 years old.

Project Summary:
Young Peacebuilders Clubs (YPCs) are small groups of young people who identify problems, and then design, implement and evaluate solutions, and repeat. YPCs are student-led and supported by Adult Mentors. Young Peacebuilders (YP) provides the training and coaching to partner organizations who want to use the YPC model and provide a Coordinator responsible for implementing YPCs through their organization. The selected consultant will help YP develop the e-learning system to remotely train the partner organazation’s Coordinator(s), Adult Mentors, Student Leaders, and club members 11 to 25 yrs old.
Primary Deliverables:

Work with the YP team to identify a suitable remote training approach and platform supporting e-learning for YPCs globally.

Design and develop accessible and applicable online training modules based on the priorities identified with the YP team, including activities, videos, self guided learning procedures and lesson plans

Enhance procedures for remote virtual training over multiple contexts including contexts Africa and the US with low technological resources and connectivity.

Adapt existing YPC materials (e.g. videos, manuals, handbooks, lessons) to create virtual participatory training modules for adults and youth while catering to a range of learning styles

Create assessment tools for lesson objectives and focuses

Create a plan for the delivery of any additional modules and resources (e.g. videos, worksheets, lessons) and how they will be integrated into the e-learning system, including a short term strategy and a longer term strategy to continue improving training

Test the usability of the system
Essential, Knowledge Skills and Experiences

Extensive experience with online training and using a variety of online learning platforms
-
Knowledge of best practices and lessons learned around participatory online training approaches
-
Excellent communication skills to remotely coordinate with multiple global team members across different cultures and time zones

Initiative, enthusiasm, and a problem-solving approach to new challenges

Successful track record of meeting tight deadlines and deliverables

Experience of creating aesthetic elements of program designer

Understanding of some graphic design processes

Understanding of and interest in youth participation processes
