The Group and its Managing Director have raised more than $145 million for previous employers and various clients, playing a role in more than 425 proposals for a variety of donors and maintained a 51% lifetime win rate. In addition to proposal development, the Group staff has played a large role in increasing learning related to competitiveness and been one of the principal architects of developing an organization-wide community of practice for fundraising professionals. This has included major efforts related to strategic planning, M&E and learning, strategic communication, and the organization of trainings and symposia. The Group regularly conducts fundraising trainings and workshops. Currently, it offers webinars on US State Department, Gulf donors, new institutional donors from emerging markets, and fundraising from corporations. While the Group has extensive experience with major donors including USAID, EuropeAid, US Department of State, UN Agencies, and some European bilateral donors, it is also well-versed in cultivating relationships with non-traditional donors, foundations, and corporations. Additionally, the Group have produced a number of communication documents, brochures, and websites to raise visibility with a view to improving funding.

The role: The Group is searching for an intern to assist in several tasks related to a project in support of organizations which serve the deaf and persons with hearing disabilities. The tasks are related to fundraising, communications, and proposal writing.

This position is ideal for graduate students or recent graduates seeking to build their CV, and willing to work short periods. This is an unpaid internship position but it is anticipated that an honorarium or stipend will be offered at the completion of the internship. The Group will provide references and a certificate for all internships.

All work is to be conducted as a home-based assignment, and the intern will work closely with the focal point at SFV Consulting Group. No travel is anticipated.

This position will last for approximately 3 months and it is an unpaid position.

Required knowledge, skills and experience: This is an entry level position and no formal proposal production experience is required. However, candidates should have:

· A keen interest in development and humanitarian work

· Ability to work under pressure, and adhere to deadlines without exception

· Experience in studies or work in developing countries

· A demonstrated ability to manage assignments and write effectively

· A working proficiency of the English language
