Duty station: We request candidates based in Jordan to apply, as travelling to Amman during Covid pandemic would not possible.
While there is a possibility for the consultancy to be home-based, Yet, classroom training is preferable, and better suited to meet the trainees’ expectations taking into consideration all COVID-19 precautionary measures.
Timeframe: Estimated 8- 10 business days in total, including preparations for training and material development**
DKH is looking for a consultant/consultancy agency to deliver a workshop to support DKH Regional Office for West and Central and Asia staff to get solid learnings on training techniques and training material development. The training workshop shall be delivered at DKH’s premises in Amman with the participation of 8-10 DKH staff, and remotely via Zoom with 5 other DKH staff located in other countries. The objective of the consultancy is to expose participants to the range of methodologies and techniques that can help turn the delivery of training into a participatory, high-impact and memorable learning experience. Emphasis is on developing and applying active learning methodologies such as exercises and simulations to reinforce learning. The workshop will be highly participatory and practical, focusing on techniques, tools, and tips of training management, with participants themselves designing, delivering, and critiquing training elements.
The consultant’s tasks will be 1. to customize a ToT material to match the requirements of the participants. 2. deliver interactive training sessions while maintaining COVID-19 precautionary measures such as social distancing, mask wearing, etc.
Under the umbrella of the Capacity Building Initiative Asia Program (CBIA) that aims at enhancing the capacities of DKH partners, an emerging need to support the partners in training, mentoring, and coaching has risen. Complying with the Core Humanitarian Standards and its indicators, alongside with those in the Charter for Change, strengthening partners’ capacities and forming a stronger partnership spirit in the humanitarian assistance field is of crucial value. This assignment will contribute to building the capacities of DKH staff and equipping them with the practical knowledge to utilize in supporting partners across the region.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Preparation: based on an internal needs mapping survey, the main topics on which participants wish to learn about are a. Training Material Development. b. Training techniques for online training delivery. c. Ice breaking and props for online training delivery.
Development of practical manual/SOPs: for the purpose of institutionalizing the knowledge gained, the consultant is required to develop a brief set of SOPs to be documented for future references.
Development of visual illustrations: including but not limited to PowerPoint slides and interactive exercises that are to be used during the training sessions.
Coaching: to perform role playing exercises during and after the training sessions with the participants, if needed.
Reporting: submit a final report of the training workshop successes, challenges, and expectations from participants upon concluding the workshop. This should also include pre- and post-assessments analysis.
Close coordination with the Capacity Building Coordinator is required.
The consultancy covers approx. 10 business days’ worth of effort between preparing, delivering, and coaching. The training sessions shall not exceed three full consecutive days.
DKH expects to conduct this training between February and March 2021. Applicants shall remain flexible in their availability as the exact dates are yet to be determined.
The training sessions and materials must be delivered in English language.

· Selection and informing applicants / invitation for interview ** 07.02.2021
· In close coordination with the CB coordinator, prepare training content and a list of main topics, training outline, and methodology. (3-5 Days)
· Conduct a (maximum) 3-day workshop .
· Handing over the ToT manual.**
· Writing the training workshop report, including pre- and post-assessments.**
· Obtain acceptance letter on training delivery.** (1-2 days)
How to apply:
The proposal must include:
· Master Trainer’s CV – including a short summary of relevant competences and previous relevant experiences.
· Technical Proposal, Methodology and Training Delivery.
· Proposed Budget
· Work plan against proposed timeline.
· Proven experience in conducting Training of Trainers workshops, preferably for humanitarian organizations staff.
· Flexibility in customizing training contents against the needs.
· Fluency in English.
Budget and Payment:
Budget should cover all the necessary costs of the consultant. Payment of the contract will be released in JOD.
Applicants are expected to provide a breakdown of costs by tasks (e.g., content development, report preparation, etc.).
The payment will be done in two instalments: the first payment of 40% after approval of the training content and workplan. The second payment of the remaining 60% after approval of the final report and its annexes.
