NGO Jobs / UN Jobs Vacancy

Organization: Tearfund
Closing date: 4 Jan 2021

The Communications for Development team is building a global community who are learning together, online and offline, to equip themselves with knowledge and skills to face the challenges of poverty and injustice in our world.

We are looking for a temporary Translations Editor to provide excellent project management and editorial oversight for Portuguese (Brazilian), and possibly some Spanish, translations of Tearfund's resources. The role sits within a translations sub-team that manages and quality assures translations in English, French, Portuguese and Spanish, done by a pool of freelance translators.

The ideal candidate will be a fast learner and ready to hit the ground running in what is a short-term but dynamic employment opportunity.

This role is open to applicants based in the UK or any Latin American country where Tearfund can employ staff and applicants have the right to live and work.

Applicants must be fluent in Portuguese and have excellent written and spoken English. Excellent Spanish is also an advantage.

The role is part time (21-28 hours per week, depending on location) and fixed term until March 31 2021.

Applicants must be committed to Tearfund's Christian beliefs.

The recruitment process will include specific checks related to safeguarding issues. In addition, personal identification information will be submitted against a Watchlist database to check against criminal convictions as a counter-terror measure.
