Finn Church Aid (FCA) is looking for Finance and Administration Officer for the Secretariat of the Network for Religious and Traditional Peacemakers (NRTP). The Finance and Administration Officer will be part of the Sub-Saharan Africa regional team, in charge of financial and administrative processes of the EU-funded consortium project “TIPS – Towards an Inclusive and Peaceful Society in Mozambique”.The Finance and Administration Officer is responsible for ensuring that the relevant legal, donor and internal requirements related to finances and administration of the EU grant are met and provides technical advice and support in financial management to the partners and stakeholders in the project, contributing to the successful implementation and achievement of project results.

The Finance and Administration Officer together with the Project Coordinator will be contracted by the consortium partner Instituto para Democracia Multipartidária (IMD) and hosted in their office in Maputo, but reporting to the NRTP Regional Program Manager, based in Helsinki, and supported by the regional and global NRTP team and FCA.

The recruitment is subject to the signing of the grant agreement. FCA and IMD withholds the right to cancel the recruitment at any stage of the process.


  • Establish and document systems and procedures for adequate administrative and financial management of the project

  • Review partner financial reports and establish a system for project routine financial reporting

  • Compile internal financial reports and prepare the financial reports to the donor in collaboration with the Project Coordinator

  • Ensure, through systematic, continuous and active communication and monitoring, that the project partners comply with donor, contractual and internal requirements related to administration and financial management.

  • Establish a system/mechanism for funds transfers to partners in the region and reporting procedures for the used fund

  • Plan and monitor cash requirements

  • Provide support and guidance to partners in administrative and financial management issues.

  • Implement oversight of the project financial management, perform compliance and internal control spot checks across the project.

  • Consolidate/prepare official and adhoc donor and management reports

  • Coordinate logistical arrangements, administration and finances of events (such as workshops) in the framework of this project

  • Support in financial planning of Network project and programs in the region


  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, and/or relevant accounting certification

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in project support and financial management/accounting

  • Previous experience in EU project financial management, preferably in EuropeAid projects

  • Understanding of donor requirements related to finances, procurement and administration

  • Experience in financial management of multi-partner projects

  • Ability to adapt to a new working environments achieving results with multiple priorities and deadlines

  • Organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to work both independently and collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation

  • Expertise with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint); accounting softwares, Advanced Excel skills preferable

  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills.

  • Fluency in oral and written English and Portuguese

  • Ability to travel within Mozambique, even to higher security risk areas

A fixed-term contract for this position will be made until 31.12.2023 with four months’ probation period. The compensation is based on FCA Compensation System and depends on prior work experience.
