Mili Institute of Higher Education (MIoHE), established in 2012, is a pioneering private institution in the field of higher education in Afghanistan. The institute began its mission with inspiration from Islamic teachings and aimed at the development of the country by providing quality higher education. A community of over 2100 vibrant students is studying in 7 demand-driven academic disciplines at MIoHE.
MIoHE has recently been awarded a one-year contract by one of its international partners operating in Afghanistan. Through this partnership, MIoHE is commissioned to provide high quality First Aid and Hygiene Training to an estimated 1000 national and international staff members of the contracting agency (international partner of MIoHE) in Afghanistan.
MIoHE is seeking a highly qualified international First Aid Trainer to work with national trainers in the successful delivery of the aforementioned training. A summary of the duties, responsibilities, and key deliverables is provided below.
Job Description
The International First Aid Trainer will be given a short-term contract (anticipated 3 months) with a specified number of working days spread throughout the contract period to carry out the following main tasks:

Design a training curriculum (in English language) based on internationally accepted practices in the field and provide the external training materials; among others, power point presentations, workshop exercises, tools/resources, handouts for attendees, etc.

Before the delivery of the training modules, submit a draft version of the modules to MIoHE and its international partner for review and feedback,

Deliver a specified number of comprehensive and practical First Aid and Hygiene training (in English) to the staff of MIoHE’s international partner in Afghanistan,

Ensure that training components and activities are implemented as outlined in the proposal in accordance with MIoHE and its international partner’s policies and regulations,

Conduct evaluation (Pre-test and post-test, etc.) on trainees to ensure that the information and activities are effective,

Prepare and submit accurate and reliable training reports inclusive of a summary of evaluations (pre-test and post-test results),

Maintain ongoing communication with MIoHE regarding progress and challenges;

Carry out any other task related to the assignment.
Job Requirements
ü Degree level qualifications in a relevant medical field, preferably a paramedic,
ü Teaching and Training qualifications are highly desirable,
ü Proven experience of at least 10 years in First Aid (at least 5 years of the experience must be as a First Aid Trainer),
ü Work experience in Afghanistan or similar contexts required,
ü Fluency in English required,
ü Working level knowledge of local languages (Pashto/Dari) desirable
Notes:
MIoHE will provide round-trip flight tickets, a vehicle with a driver and a security guard, and accommodation for the trainer during the specified working days.
MIoHE will not provide any insurance for this position. A highly competitive daily fee will be paid (taxes will be withheld in accordance with the Afghan tax law and regulations).
MIoHE does not provide visa sponsorship; candidates who already have a valid visa and work permit in Afghanistan will be preferred.
