Do you have senior leadership experience in planning, research, collaboration and grants? Are you passionate about humanitarian innovation and reducing the human impact of conflict and disasters?

We are looking to recruit an exceptional Deputy Director for the UK Humanitarian Innovation Hub.

The Hub will leverage world-class UK science, technology and innovation to support humanitarian action around the world. It will be a convening mechanism to promote collaboration across the UK and provide a more coherent, accessible, and impactful innovation offer from the UK to the international humanitarian community. In doing so, to facilitate a network of UK humanitarian innovators focused on new and improved processes and technologies that will make humanitarian action more effective and efficient.

You will have substantial experience in humanitarian innovation and excellent relationships across the innovation community. The role requires someone skilled in delivering high-impact programmes involving collaborations and partnerships, as well as experience of working with FCDO (DfID) and across Government. The UK Humanitarian Innovation Hub is a new initiative, so we are looking for someone who is experienced in start-ups and feels comfortable in an evolving environment, as the work of the Hub continues to grow and develop. We are also interested in hearing from candidates that have held similar senior roles and who have proven leadership and relationship management skills.

The Hub is hosted by Elrha and is funded by the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).

Please note: Due to COVID-19 we are all currently working remotely, so this role will initially be home-based. When deemed safe and appropriate to do so, the role will be based in our London office and there will be some UK travel involved in this role.

The role will be appointed at the start of the salary band advertised, unless there are exceptional circumstances. This allows for incremental progression within the role and movement up the scale.
