Social Work Expert Ethiopian Catholic Church Social Development Commission Branch office of Meki (ECC-SDCBOM) is a faith-based Non-Governmental Organization having Social Development activities in the Vicariate of Meki. The Social Development activities are carried out under the Social and Development Commission Branch Office.  The office has secured financial support from CRS/Ethiopia to implement a Project entitled ‘’Reaching for the potential-Girls Gain Project’’ in Dugda and Bora Woredas of East Shoa Zone, Dodota and Sire Woreda of Arsi Zone, Nagele Arsi and Shala Woredas of West Arsi Zone since October 2018.  Required No: 3               Purpose of the Position: The social work position has the role of implementing activities related to improving socio cultural environment of rural girls and women as indicated in strategic objective of the project. She will be a person with strong interpersonal relationship and advocacy skills, works to realize target groups reach their potential.  She monitors the impact of the activities towards the intended objective, identify gaps, and propose better alternatives solution for challenges, follow reporting and documentation system. She will work closely with other project team to ensure equal participation of girls, boys, women and men in every sphere of project activity. She is committed to make a difference working with and for the poorest in Project intervention areas. She will be a growth-oriented person, ready to work with a dynamic project team and stakeholders with excellent communication skill. She will be able to set ambitious but achievable targets and objectives and will assume full responsibility for results and outcomes. She is a quick learner, open to adapt to different operating environments and ready to learn from colleagues, project staff and target groups. She Should be able to demonstrate the necessary technical expertise but remain flexible to absorb and disseminate best practices based on field experience.    Key /Specific Duties and Responsibilities: 2.1 Planning and Implementation Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual plan of action for Donor, Woreda partners and Charity in accordance with the basic project document and submit within 25thof the reporting month Suggests any useful and possible amendment for project implementation Develop appropriate targeting criteria and mechanisms to ensure the needs of identified vulnerablegroups are met in consultation of the project manager Initiate and/or Participate in the development of new concept notes and proposals relevant to the context and coherent with the overall strategic approach of the ECC-SDCBOM Will be responsible to conduct training and needs assessment of existing beneficiaries/project stakeholders Designs training modules for and builds field staffs to deliver high quality trainings. Participate in community mobilization workshop, discussion and dialogue which create conducive environment for girls to reach their potential. Participate in developing project ideas, concept notes and conducting action research for enriching current projects or designing for new project. Ensures equal participation of girls, boys, women and men in community awareness sessions, dialogue and discussion as per the project objectives. Ensures the conceptualization, integration and operationalization of specific strategies to address the needs and perspectives of women, men, boys, and girls Support creation of increased awareness among key stakeholders about principles of adolescent programming and support them to adapt them to their context Works strongly towards eradicating GBV in target areas of the project Use international and local events to promote gender equity and empowerment  Organizing/staffing Ensures that human, material and financial resources are utilized efficiently for the appropriate implementation of the project activities Facilitates capacity building/skill upgrading training of the project staff and target groups in consultation with the project manager in areas of girls/women empowerment Organizes the field staffs to be committed to carry out their duties and responsibilities on the basis of participatory approach and teamwork in areas of girls/women empowerment Organize and facilitate training sessions for woreda expert, LCFs and targeted communities Coordination Work closely with various community stakeholders and mobilize them to ensure full involvement of community leaders, community and local government representatives in the overall implementation and improvement of project activities In charge of training and oversight of woreda experts and LCFs in achieving intended objective Coordinate communication and facilitate information sharing among the project team and project beneficiaries in her specific role and responsibility Works to integrate gender equality and women’s empowerment, rigorous learning agenda, sustainable approaches, and most importantly convergence/overlay of multi-sector interventions in the project components  Controlling Monitors the quality of activities delivered by field staffs by conducting regular community site visits Participate in overall project reviews and evaluations Ensures human, material and financial resources are utilized efficiently for the appropriate implementation of the project activities Confirm project financial utilization status and is as per the approved line item, ECC-SDCBOM financial procedures and policies  Communication and representation Work closely with various community stakeholders and mobilize them to ensure full involvement of community leaders, community and local government representatives in the overall implementation and improvement of project activities In charge of training and oversight of woreda experts and LCFs in achieving intended objective Coordinate communication and facilitate information sharing among the project team and project beneficiaries in her specific role and responsibility Works to integrate gender equality and women’s empowerment, rigorous learning agenda, sustainable approaches, and most importantly convergence/overlay of multi-sector interventions in the project components  Reporting and documentation Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual/biannual physical report to the project manager or MEAL officer/experts with in 25thof the reporting period Documents and disseminate lessons learned and best practices; Compels to all donor requirements are met, including timely preparation of both narrative and financial reports Compile and analyze best practices and success stories under the objective of the project and utilize this analysis to make recommendations to improve project implementation.   Others Performs any other duties assigned to him/her by the project Manager Adheres to the rules and regulations of ECC-SDCBOM strictly Job Requirements  Education BA holder in social work, sociology or related field from recognized universities/colleges    Experience: A minimumof 2 years for BA Degree NGO experience is preferable  Competencies /Knowledge, Ability and Skill        Strong organizational skills and with strong competencies in project cycle management Excellent supervisory skills A people-person, able to supervise and motivate field staff and stockholders to develop and maintain high quality programming. A solid team player who is able to work with a diverse group of people and organizations. Strong communicator with good presentation and written. Energy and stamina to withstand long working hours and often stressful conditions.
