Livelihood & Agriculture Officer INTERNAL/EXTERNAL VACANCY FH Ethiopia FH Ethiopia, a non-governmental organization engaged in relief and development activities, would like to invite potential candidates to apply for the following position: Position: Livelihood & Agriculture Officer Duty Station: Sahila Project (Wag-Himra Zone) Duration of Contract: One-year contract (Renewable with 45 days probation period) Closing date: 22 February 2019 PURPOSE OF THE JOB This is FH DFSA Livelihood and Agriculture officer position al and Food Security team and the Rural Livelihood Adviser will provide technical support in the training of staff and the design and evaluation of rural livelihoods programs in protracted and post crises locations. ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Restoring and transforming sustainable crop and livestock production, off-farm incomegeneration and employment pathways; Deliver regular training to the targeted households through Agricultural Cascade Extension Model; Familiarity with the GoE’s agricultural extension system; Ensure the target producers linked with markets and viable value chains; Facilitate the promotion of nutrition-sensitive agriculture practices; Deliver training Increasing access to financial services (e.g. financial literacy, generating savings, and access to credit); Ensure livelihood promoters implementing various livelihood activities in result oriented manner; Knowledge of GoE’s PSNP-4 Livelihood path ways (Crop and Livestock, off-farm income generation and employment pathways) and Extension system; Work experience in similar organization; Knowledge of Value chains and business plan development; Familiarity in working with Research centers, TVET, one stop service center, RuSaCCos at rural setting Involve in planning, implementation, budget management and reporting of livelihood and agriculture component in the project Liaise with other NGOs, research centers, relevant Government agencies, private sector to ensure good coordination of efforts, avoid duplication, share lessons and approaches for maximizing impact. Provide robust support to the project manager in the area of Livelihood and agriculture; design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. Ensure FHE Ethiopia’s Self Help Group (SHG) methodology and strategies are employed and promoted Job Requirements Requirements: Education- BSc. In Agriculture or related field of Study. Experience- Three Years relevant work experience. NGO experience is preferred Direct field based experience is preferably in a similar position is essential.
