Communication Associate – Graphic Design, Cairo Background Egypt was one of the first countries to sign an agreement with UNFPA to initiate population activities. The country office was established in 1972 and UNFPA has supported Egypt through eight 5-year country programmes ever since. The proposed programme is aligned with national development priorities outlined in Egypt's Vision 2030 and National Population Strategy; United Nations Partnership and Development Assistance Framework (2018-2022), and builds on recommendations of the ninth country programme evaluation. Duties and Responsibilities Under the direct supervision of the Communication for Development Specialist, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks: Designs visual content for UNFPA's website, social media, and other dissemination outlets; Designs print publications such as briefs, bulletins, and promotional material; Creates custom illustrations, icons, and infographics; Transforms data and research into compelling visuals; Assists the Communications team in building and maintaining a diverse image library with photos, illustrations, icons, etc. Results/Expected Outputs; 1- The development of capacity through coaching, mentoring and formal on-the-job training, when working with (including supervising) national staff or (non-) governmental counterparts, including Implementing Partners (IPs); 2- Age, Gender and Diversity (AGD) perspective is systematically applied, integrated and documented in all activities throughout the assignment; 3- A final statement of achievements towards volunteerism for peace and development during the assignment, such as reporting on the number of volunteers mobilized, activities participated in and capacities developed; 4- The development of capacity through coaching, mentoring and formal on-the-job training, when working with (including supervising) national staff or (non-) governmental counter-parts, including Implementing Partners (IPs); 5- Age, Gender and Diversity (AGD) perspective is systematically applied, integrated and documented in all activities throughout the assignment; 6- A final statement of achievements towards volunteerism for peace and development dur-ing the assignment, such as reporting on the number of volunteers mobilized, activities participated in and capacities developed Competencies Accountability Commitment and Motivation Communication Ethics and Values Integrity Knowledge Sharing Planning and Organizing Professionalism Working in Teams Required Skills and Experience At least 2 years of relevant experiance. A diverse portfolio across print and digital media that shows solid design skills and preferably work with data or research-based information; Understanding of visual presentation principles for social media channels including Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
