The team provides technical support and leadership to CARE's humanitarian programmes, and includes gender & protection, shelter, climate change & resilience and cash transfer programming expertise. The role will be an excellent introduction to humanitarian response in a major global NGO.

About the role

The Humanitarian Technical Team Intern (Gender & Protection) will support the work of CARE International UK's Humanitarian Technical Team with a focus on Gender and Protection, but also extending to other humanitarian fields.

The team has recently won funding to undertake research to learn and analyse how local and national women actors are engaging in protection programming, to gain a deeper understanding of the different protection risks facing women in different types of crises, and identify best practices on localised approaches to protection programming. The intern will work primarily with the Senior Gender & Protection Advisor to support this project, but will also support other team activities.

About you

The successful candidate will have a demonstrable interest in gender and protection in humanitarian response, and excellent organisational and communication skills.
