FPbC Programme Assistant As part of its assistance to the Ethiopian Health System, the Department for International Development (DFID) granted a £20 million award to a consortium being led by Marie Stopes International Ethiopia (MSIE) to provide technical assistance to the Federal Ministry of Health (FMoH), Regional Health Bureaus (RHBs) and the public health delivery system with the aim of improving quality, equity, choice and financing for family planning and comprehensive abortion care services. Family Planning by Choice (FPbC) is a national project running from July 2018 until December 2020 creating Centres of Excellence for family planning and safe abortion services in 11 teaching hospitals; Quality Assurance Hubs in 110 referral/general hospitals which in turn will ensure quality of care at 3,500 health centres and 15,000 health posts.                                                                                                                                                                                    Under the supervision of the FPbC Project Director, the Program Assistant (PA) will be part of the support office program implementing team for the DFID funded Family Planning by Choice (FPbC) Program. The PA will be responsible for the overall handling of logistics for the technical team. S/he will provide support to the technical team in facilitating necessary logistics and arrangements in organizing trainings, workshops, meetings within MSI office or outside the office, taking minutes and proceedings. S/he will be responsible for organizing proper filing and documentation of the project activities.  DUTIES/TASKS Facilitates and ensures that the FPbC project team has timely and necessary logistics including office supplies, transportation, etc Closely works with the project technical team and identifies the necessary logistic needs for trainings, workshops, meetings and arrange the logistics as per the identified need Works with the MSI finance, Fleet and other relevant operation team to facilitate necessary logistics for the filed travel for the project team Assists the Project Director and other Addis based Project technical team in handling communications with the field based project team, other relevant units within MSI office and consortium members Assists the project team in organizing files, proper documentations, taking minutes and proceedings during meetings of project team and workshops. Together with the operation team in MSI, will be responsible for booking hotels and accommodations for the project team Job Requirements PERSON SPECIFICATIONS Qualification Requirements Education: BA degree in social science, linguistics & secretarial science or Diploma in Secretarial Science and Office Management Experience: no experience is required for BA degree. Two years of experience for diploma. Skills, Attitudes and Attributes Excellent communication skill in English and Amharic; both writing and speaking. Additional other local languages is a plus.
