Action Network for the Disabled (ANDY) is seeking 5 Board Members who will serve a minimum two (2) year term and assist ANDY to achieve its Vision of “Creating a barrier free society fully inclusive for persons with disabilities”. Terms are eligible for renewal to a maximum of three (3) consecutive terms. The Board meets quarterly to govern and oversee the management of the Organization. All Board Members are expected to participate in Committee activities and attend Committee meetings as required.


Registered in 2009, ANDY is a non-governmental organization, Action Network for the Disabled (ANDY) is a National Disabled Persons Organization (DPO) working at all levels of community with the involvement of persons with disabilities to bring about positive change. We were founded by and for children and youth with disabilities in Kenya.

ANDY is dedicated to achieve equality, inclusion, and empowerment of children and youth with disabilities in Kenya through main streaming this group into all aspects of daily life. ANDY is a unique initiative that provides an inspiring environment for people with different types of disabilities and people without disabilities to work together.

ANDY has programs on Advocacy, Livelihood and Education with a reach of over 1000 persons with disabilities nationally. ANDY works closely with the Ministry of Education and Health to ensure its programs are sustainable and included in the national agenda.


  • Serve as a member of a collegial body that is committed to the advancement of Individuals with disabilities.
  • Provide technical and professional input, advice and guidance to the direction of ANDY.
  • Participate fully in decision making activities.
  • Raise the profile of ANDY in the community.
  • Build relationships with all stakeholders and assist in fundraising
  • ANDY is looking for experts in Finance, Law, Communications, Programs and Business as part of the board.


  • An understanding of ANDY’s work and a passion for working with persons with disabilities.
  • Previous Governance experience.
  • Disability awareness and knowledge.
  • Finance, law, programs and/or business experience or expertise.
  • Fund development.
