CARE is seeking an Emergency Preparedness Planning Manager who will provide overall technical leadership and coordination of EPP activities throughout CARE. S/he will coordinate CARE’s support to Country Offices to ensure appropriate levels of emergency response readiness. S/he will manage the centrally held functions of CARE’s 3-year, $2.5 million Margaret A. Cargill Philanthropies (MACP)-funded RRACE project and ensure delivery on CARE’s commitment, maintaining relationships and reporting to the donor. S/he will provide technical leadership and coordination to the overall CARE confederation on issues related to emergency preparedness through regular engagement with CMPs and participation in relevant CI events and fora such as EPP Working Group. The EPP Manager will support CARE USA to fulfill its commitment as technical lead on emergency preparedness for the CARE confederation by spearheading planned reviews of EPP guidance. The EPP Manager will be tasked with working across the CARE membership to integrate humanitarian and development best practices, working closely with CARE’s technical teams for the core emergency sectors to ensure cross-learning and the integration of minimum technical sectors standards and risk analysis into the EPP process. The EPP Manager will report through CARE USA’s humanitarian operations line and will work closely with relevant CARE confederation bodies and individuals engaged with emergency preparedness.  Responsibilities: Oversight of Grant Management and donor’s relationship Technical leadership, management and coordination of EPP activities throughout CI Oversee and support Emergency Preparedness Planning for CARE USA COs Monitoring and Evaluation Reporting and Communications Other duties as assigned Qualifications: 5-6 years in humanitarian response, program management, monitoring and evaluation, EPP, or related fields Extensive experience facilitating emergency preparedness planning Demonstrated ability to work in partnership with other organizations. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Sound knowledge of Humanitarian Response, Emergency Preparedness Planning and Disaster Risk Reduction Extensive experience in grant implementation and oversight Comprehensive understanding of development of learning agendas Proven ability in partnership building and developing consensus Advanced skills in Microsoft Word Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel Ability to write basic correspondence and Ability to analyze and synthesize large amounts of information/data Adequate oral and written communication skills Experience in budgeting Ability to work independently and at a fast pace.

Assist in convening an event—workshop or seminar style—with INGO representatives and social movement actors aiming to generate creative modes of allyship, partnership, knowledge and resource sharing, etc. Support and implement the ‘movement incubator’ prototype (which identifies the contextual features necessary to foster broad-based social movements and how CARE can advance these) If time is allotted: draft a program proposal for an ‘activist-in-residence’ program, partnering with a university institute. Qualifications: Proficient in Microsoft Office(Word, Excel and Power Point) M.A. degree in social sciences, humanities, or law. Deep knowledge of social movement theory and movement-building tactics. As part one of the key programmatic pillars of its approach to providing high quality sexual and reproductive health services in challenging settings, and in line with monitoring and evaluation guidance and standards CARE-wide, the CARE SRHR Global Team is working to support enhancing skills throughout the organization in data management analysis and use.  Part of that effort includes development of tools that will be easily accessible and user friendly to country office staff in complex settings.  In addition, we work to provide guidance on utilization of tools both for high-quality data collection and for utilization of data collected for continuous improvement of CARE’s programming. The SAFPAC Data Management intern will provide support to overall Monitoring and Evaluation efforts of the program, including: Development of questionnaires related to SRH-E monitoring and assessment in the KoboToolbox mobile data collection format. Contributing to development of user manual to support KoboToolbox users. Supporting program documentation through generating graphs and chart with appropriate data visualization. Participate in learning initiatives of the program through a review of project data and secondary data for background and context.
