El Salvador: Project Knowledge Manager for Agriculture Landscape Restoration

The Agriculture Landscape Restoration Initiative (ALRI) will implement water-smart agriculture programming at a landscape scale in the Department of Ahuachapan to develop and demonstrate a model to revitalize smallholder rainfed agriculture and restore agriculture landscapes. The goals of the project are to: (1) demonstrate the benefits of water-smart agriculture at the farm and landscape scales over the long-term (12 years) and (2) influence and inform strategic investments in large-scale rainfed agriculture programming by decision-makers at local, national, and regional levels.

ALRI includes the following strategic objectives:

  • SO1: Increased agricultural productivity for farm families at a landscape scale
  • SO2: Agricultural ecosystems are restored
  • SO3: Strengthened social capital and leadership capacity for agriculture landscape management
  • SO4: Partnerships built to advocate for agriculture landscape restoration nationally ALRI is part of CRS' overall Water Smart Agriculture approach in Latin America. The project is designed to contribute to research and advocacy to promote WSA at a massive scale in the region.

    Job Summary:

    The ALRI Project Knowledge Manager (PKM) will be responsible for overall management of data, information, communication, and reporting for ALRI, under the supervision of the ALRI Project Director. The PKM will coordinate with the Operations Field Manager and other key staff in designing and executing a knowledge management strategy and formulation of knowledge management tools for ALRI. The PKM will provide the tools and information that enable the project management team to gather and analyze information in order to execute the project effectively
