BRAC South Sudan started its operation since 2006 and had expanded programmes in four regions of the country with development programmes that included Education, Accelerated learning, Empowerment and Livelihoods of adolescents, Health, Ultra poor graduation, Poultry and Livestock, Food security and Agriculture. Currently, most of the programmes are ending in their existing mode, new phase will start with a different mode of operation to be effective in responding to the country needs.

The Country Representative will lead a small and dynamic senior management team of BRAC International and have accountability for programmatic and operational activities in South Sudan. As head of the country office, the Country Representative will be responsible for programming in the country in partnership with national and international organizations.

The role provides immense opportunity to play an increasingly important and decisive strategic role within BRAC International while leading a small and nimble workforce of in-country staff. The role will report to the Director, Africa Region and receive support to carry out day-to-day activities from a variety of sources at BRAC International – Executive Director, Head of HR, Head of Finance, programme anchors and other unit heads in BRAC International based in the Head Office in Dhaka.

Key Responsibilities:

· Uphold, promote, and apply the core Values and Mission of BRAC in the host country

· Collaborate with partners in designing, implementing and making an impact for the poor communities in the country by developing emergency preparedness and response models considering country context and organizational strategies and focus.

· Lead country risk assessment for designing emergency response strategies, and implementation plans, security analysis considering country context and requirements.

· Lead a small team of experts in partner selection, capacity building and monitoring of implementation as per set standards, program development and the writing of project proposals for emergency and recovery projects in the country.

· Ensure all kinds of reports according to program objectives, required standards and meet reporting quality of donors, partner offices and the headquarters

· Be responsible for country budget and fund management.

· Ensure adequate systems are in place and followed, regarding program procurements, and maintenance of project assets, regular inventories, lease agreements, MOU with partners and donors and similar activities.

· Represent BRAC to foreign and national governments, partners, donors and other stakeholders, and develop and maintain productive relationships and be BRAC’s representative and spokesperson to local and international media/ audience.

· Be responsible for talent management and development in the country and develop national leaders to lead country programmes, promoting and demonstrating ownership.

· Ensure proper and transparent management of resources and reporting systems are established in the country in accordance with the policy and procedures and all regulatory requirements of BRAC, host country governments and donor’s policy

· Keeping abreast of country situation and ensure appropriate measures and procedures for safety and security of staff and assets in the country offices.
