Reports to (position): Senior Operation Coordinator

Purpose: Operating and maintaining transportation for PIJO staff and visitors in a safe and courteous manner and maintain safety conditions for PIJO vehicles. Deliver and distribute goods and materials as needed for program support, and follow up on different transaction with different Private and governmental departments.

Dimensions of Role:

  • This role has no direct reporters
  • This role may require close relationship with Sponsored Children and families

Typical Responsibilities - Key End Results of Position:

· KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

· Support the delivery of effective Programs, in both development and humanitarian contexts, by:

· Ability and willingness to dramatically change work practices and hours, and work with incoming surge teams, in the event of crisis or emergency.

· Commitment to serving members and their donors, and to helping build a culture of member service throughout organization.

· Ensure the vehicle is kept in a clean condition internally and externally at all times.

· Provide transportation for staff and visitors in a safe and courteous manner.

· Distribute, receive, pick-up mail and correspondence belonging to the organization as and when instructed.

· Update the monthly mileage report.

· Assisting passengers in and out of the vehicle and assist in lifting luggage and devices as needed.

· Maintain vehicle in good condition by ensuring regular service and necessary repairs

· Maintain vehicle logs recording mileage per trip, maintenance records and ensuring all vehicles related documents are forwarded to the Logistics in a timely manner.

· Ensure vehicle is equipped with safety equipment such as First Aid Kit, jack, spare tire, Fire Extinguisher etc.

· Ensure adequate vehicle fuel levels are maintained at all times and the fuel tank is full before field visits.

· Follow Jordanian traffic laws and assess the safety of various routes depending on weather and other conditions. Liaise with the PIJO Security focal person where necessary.

· Ensure the vehicle is kept locked and parked in safe areas at all times.

· Report needed renewals of licenses or repair needs to the PIJO Logistics focal person.

· Follow directives given directly or indirectly by the PIJO Security Officer in relation to Security restrictions for travel.

· Ensure the vehicle is parked and secured in PIJO premises at the end of each working day and the keys handed over to the Logistics focal person.

· Provide other services as requested

· Assist the Senior Operations Coordinator as requested in office-related operational issues such as moving furniture, boxes, receiving deliveries from suppliers, storing supplies, etc.

· Assist senior finance coordinator to Deliver PIJO documents to recipient agencies in a timely and appropriate manner and confirm receipt in the dispatch logbook

Knowledge, Skills, Behaviors, and Experience Required to Achieve Role’s Objectives:

  • Completing Secondary school or high school
  • Must possess a valid driver license.
  • Must possess a safe driving record.
  • Demonstrated experience in relevant field.
  • Ability to drive a multi-passenger vehicle safely and appropriately
  • Able to read maps and driving directions and to plan the most efficient route service.
  • Able to read the road signs in English
  • Serve as a positive role model while providing transportation services
  • Good communication skills, pleasant manner, remain calm under pressure, smart appearance
  • Strong team player with high team spirit and positive attitude.
  • Productive and responsive to instructions and project policies and regulations

· Ability to read and write basic Arabic & English

  • Typically, Azraq Camp environment with at least 10% in the Country Office to follow up on delivering documents to different stakeholders

  • Senior Operation coordinator and senior finance coordinator (high contact)
  • Azraq Camp team (high contact)
  • PIJO visitors.

External:

  • Local partners and any other stakeholders plan deals with

  • High level: High Contact with children.
