The primary role of the Program Coordinator is to coordinate the implementation of ECHO and FFP funded programs. A secondary role is to function as a mentor to the Area Managers who function as Heads of our Sub Offices.   Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: working closely with program staff and other stakeholders in project start up processes and orientations, ensuring good monitoring and reporting (for internal and donor use), setting appropriate communication/coordination systems in place with different stakeholders, facilitation of processes for sub-awards, capacity building for staff and implementing partners, ensuring that proper systems are in place to facilitate smooth and timely submission of internal and donor reporting (both financial and program), close out requirements and ensuring accountability is an integral part of the operation. This position supervises the maintenance of project grant and sub-grant files.   This position will report to the Deputy Program Director.    The position is based in Aden, Yemen. Responsibilities Work closely with program staff and other stakeholders in project start up processes and orientations; Ensure good monitoring and reporting (for internal and donor use); Ensuring appropriate communication/coordination systems are in place for different stakeholders; Facilitate the processes for sub-awards, capacity building for staff and implementing partners; Ensure that proper systems are in place to facilitate smooth and timely submission of internal and donor reporting (both financial and program) Manage close out requirements and ensure accountability is an integral part of the operation; and Supervise the maintenance of project grant and sub-grant files. Qualifications   Bachelor’s degree in social/political sciences, arts or in a humanitarian assistance related field; 5 years of direct project management experience (planning, monitoring, evaluation) in humanitarian context, including in a leading position; Cultural sensitivity and proven experience working in the Middle-East strongly desired; Strong experience in budget management of complex humanitarian projects; Experience in managing US government, ECHO, and other institutional donor funded grants; Experience in program management in fragile states; Strong communications skills in both English and Arabic.
