Chemonics seeks a Software Training Associate to support the the Digital Transformation team. The team was created to provide modern, digital solutions that allow our global workforce to seamlessly collaborate and manage our projects on a cloud-based platform. The software training associate will support the initiative by providing instructional design and training delivery for competency-based training programs on corporate software tools implemented as part of the Digital Transformation. S/he will assess needs, develop, deliver and evaluate training, and develop staff to become highly proficient on the technology tools used by the company. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Responsibilities include:

  • Per the direction of the manager, develop provided content into various communications materials, including instructor guides, participant guides, and job aides

  • Schedule and/or facilitate pre-designed training for home and field office staff on various topics

  • Ensure that training delivery and content have a high level of cultural competency for non-native English speaking audiences

  • Develop marketing materials and encourages attendance for training sessions using various methods, such as sending marketing emails, creating posters, going to Operations meetings to announce trainings, and other strategic communications to end users

  • Lead instructor-led training for home-office staff, and potentially field-office staff as needed.

  • Lead instructional webinars and training for remote staff in developing countries via Skype for Business or Adobe Connect

  • Organize scripts and potentially create first draft or scripts to assist with the creation of instructional videos, e-learning, PowerPoint trainings, and other online learning materials. Ensures that all training is aligned with Chemonics’ policies, procedures, and strategic vision

  • Post documents, such as screenshots and other document updates to Quality Management System, InDepth, or IT ticketing system

  • Assist manager with the development of training strategy, training materials management, and training tools dissemination

  • Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to internal and external clients in layman’s terms, including appropriate corporate jargon where applicable; listens carefully to the needs of others and works to fulfill requests based on the applicable policies and procedures

  • Maintain and expand technical knowledge in instructional design and training delivery by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies and Chemonics practice networks

  • Maintain a high degree of comfort with IT systems of all kinds, particularly Office 365 and SharePoint 2016, and rapidly learns new tools, as needed

  • Stay abreast of advancements in the training field and research new trends to present to team for consideration for future training efforts

  • Respond to staff requests in a timely and professional manner

  • Build rapport with staff to help increase adoption of technology tools and encourages feedback of potential improvements while cultivating collaborative working relationships across the company

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Education, Marketing, Business Administration, or other relevant field required

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in adult learning, training delivery, or training design required; some software training experience preferred

  • Experience using with Microsoft products (Office 365, Dynamics CRM, Power BI) required; experience using or training Microsoft Dynamics AX/365 preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally in writing, and in online environments

  • Ability to manage and lead presentations, training courses, and effective meetings

  • Demonstrated ability to explain technical concepts in layman’s terms, including appropriate corporate jargon where applicable

  • Experience conducting software training for non-native English speakers with diverse cultural backgrounds preferred

  • Experience producing e-learning material preferred

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Strong organizational and work prioritization skills and attention to detail

  • Knowledge and understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, and experience with blended learning preferred

  • Experience developing curricula and related assessment and evaluation plans preferred

  • Ability to provide guidance to staff on training coordination and management

  • Interest in international development efforts

  • Knowledge of company’s main client and its operations preferred

  • Experience living or working in developing countries preferred

  • Proficiency in a foreign language preferred; French language fluency highly desired
