About Hand in Hand for Syria:

Hand in Hand for Syria is a non-political, non-sectarian organisation founded in May 2011 to provide humanitarian relief to people inside Syria. Hand in Hand is registered in the UK with a head office in London and two offices in Turkey. With six international partners, projects cover the health, WASH, shelter, food security, NFI and education sectors and directly employ over 450 field staff inside Syria.

Job Title: Hr Officer.

Department: Human Resources

Reporting to: Hr Manager

Location of the Work: Gaziantep

Description of the Job:

The HR Officer will support all HR field activities such as monitoring employees’ attendance, track absence, training, development and tracking the executing of management administrative orders and other issues related to human resources work.

Responsibilities of the Job

  1. Assist in ensuring HIH’s organizational policies and systems

  2. Work with HR Manager to determine workforce needs.

  3. Assist in ensuring HIH human resource processes are in accordance with local labour laws.

  4. Assist in ensuring each position has a job description.

  5. Schedule interviews with potential candidates when requested

  6. Assist in ensuring effective orientation processes for new hires according to human resources office polices

  7. Keep records for employees’ files (include all identification documents, degrees, offered letters, and any other human resources documents)

  8. Maintain HR software and make sure it is updated on timely basis with all staff time off and comp time

  9. Assist in enforcing HIH’s human resources systems

  10. Assist in following with programs teams on personnel and projects personnel issues

  11. Track staff attendance, absence, timesheets, contracts, evaluation and other HR related information and document it accordingly,

  12. Assist the Human Resources Manager in following up on the new hired paperwork and maintaining employment contracts,

  13. Maintain up-to-date staff list with the relevant details such as next of kin information, staff address, and any other required information,

  14. Coordinating and setting up training classes or meetings in Syria.

  15. Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications & Skills:

· University degree in Business Administration, or any related field.

· Relevant work experience.

· Previous experience working for NGOs is preferred.

· Demonstrated attention to detail, following procedures, meeting deadlines and problem-solving independently and cooperatively.

· Strong Computer Skills.

· Fluency in Arabic is required.

· English Language is required.
