International Association for Relief and Development (Onsur) is a non-governmental organization registered in Turkey N° (27-018-178) dealing with the Relief and development projects through the empowerment of local communities to ensure a decent life, Founded at the beginning of 2012. Onsur works through the main office is located in Gaziantep’s province Turkey, in addition to execution offices in: Syria (Aleppo, Idlib, Rural Damascus), Lebanon (Saida, Arsal), and Iraq (Erbil – under construction)

About the job:

Based in Gaziantep with occasional field visits, The Grants & Partnership officer is responsible for the grants and partnership of ONSUR Association. Reporting to the Executive director, this position will work closely with Program Department, but also with other Departments, to focus on proposal writing, reporting, donor compliance, developing partnership with doners.

The main challenges of the position are:

  • New position, thus not a lot of material to support it

  • Responsibilities

  • Support ONSUR in seeking funds to implement the its strategy

  • Lead research efforts to identify potential funders and grant opportunities.

  • Monitoring and analysis into donor strategies.

  • Maintain an efficient system for concept note/ proposal development - with clear responsibilities outlined for management, programs, finance and operations departments

  • Solicit grants from public and private donors by developing concept papers, letters of inquiry and full proposals.

  • In collaboration with Program, and in line with ONSUR strategy, develop concept notes and proposals and assist senior management in donor liaison and communication as requested.

  • Ensure that all concept notes/ proposals comply with the ONSUR mandate and donor requirements.

  • Support the ONSUR in ensuring communication with current and potential donors through regular updates on SI’s actions

  • Preparing all internal and external reporting in collaboration with the programs and finance departments, ensuring high-quality, well-written and timely reports meeting donor and ONSUR requirements.

  • Ensure quality information management related to grants by overseeing the regular maintenance of grant files, reporting calendars, and updating of internal ONSUR documentation and Grant tools.

Your profile

  • Is a Turkish or Syrian national
  • Has a degree in a relevant
  • Has at least 2 years of experience
  • Is fluent in English and Arabic, Turkish (preferred)


  • Demonstrated successful experience developing proposal writing and grant solicitation for public and private donors.
  • Proven experience with donors and multilateral donor mechanisms is essential for this role, as is experience in grant management, proposal development (including Logframe, theory of change and budgets) donor reporting, communications, monitoring and evaluation, project cycle management and implementation.
  • Previous experience working with Arabic public donors, as well as UN agencies.
  • Experience in the region preferred.

Technical skill and competence:

  • Ability to work well under pressures while being organized, close attention to detail, and ability to effectively prioritize tasks in a multi-tasking environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to write persuasively and with clarity.
  • Professional fluency in spoken and written English.
  • Editing and strong computer skills.

Personal quality:

  • Ability to take decisions and work in autonomy is essential;
  • The candidate must display diplomatic and smooth leadership skills;
  • An understanding of and commitment to ONSUR’s mission and values;
