The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation is a global leader in the fight against pediatric HIV and AIDS, working in 19 countries and at nearly 6,000 sites around the world to prevent the transmission of HIV to children, and to help those already infected. Today, because of the highly successful work of the Foundation and its partners, pediatric AIDS has been virtually eliminated in the United States. With a growing global staff of over 2,300—nine of 10 who work in the field—the Foundation’s global mission is to implement HIV prevention, care, and treatment programs; further advance innovative research; and to execute strategic and targeted global advocacy activities to bring dramatic change to the lives of millions of women, children, and families worldwide.

Job Summary

Overview : The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as Technical Lead, Clinical Services for an anticipated USAID-funded OVC project in Swaziland. S/he will provide technical and strategic leadership and support to ensure the provision of comprehensive, coordinated, and youth friendly HIV and SRH services to high-risk orphans and vulnerable children, adolescent girls, and young women. The Technical Lead of Clinical Services will be based in Mbabane, Swaziland for the duration of the project.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Provide technical oversight and guidance for clinical components of the project, including work planning and reporting.

  • Provide leadership for the care and support provided to children and adolescents living with HIV enrolled in the program.

  • Ensure compliance with USAID rules and regulations, EGPAF policies, and Swaziland guidelines and laws.

  • Support Chief of Party in providing technical direction to project implementation to ensure prevention results are met.

  • Ensure linkages across project components.

  • Facilitate collaborative relationships with Government of the Kingdom of Swaziland institutions, including NERCHA and the Ministry of Health.

Required Qualifications

  • Medical degree in medicine, nursing, or equivalent at a Master’s level.

  • At least 7 years of progressively responsible experience designing, implementing and managing HIV and sexual reproductive health-focused clinical services.

  • Demonstrated Knowledge of and experience with PEPFAR and MOH clinical programming, including HIV testing and counseling, pediatrics and adolescents living with HIV, maternal and child health, family planning, STI diagnosis and treatment, policy and programming context for HIV, and SRH clinical and community services.

  • Proven people management, writing, and communication skills.

  • Proven strategic, planning, and project implementation abilities.

  • Experience working in Swaziland.

  • Proficiency in English is required; additional proficiency in local languages a plus.
