CARE is seeking a Program Officer for the Tipping Point Project who will serve as a member of the Gender Justice team within Program, Partnerships and Learning (PPL) Unit based in Atlanta, USA and will be responsible for programmatic, operational, financial and administrative support to the Tipping Point project within the Gender Justice team. The Program Officer develops and maintains systems for managing sub-projects and key functions of the Tipping Point project and is responsible for tracking and reporting all project deliverables of grants and contracts, including budgets under the Tipping Point project.  The PO contributes to the successful achievement of project goals and objectives, while working both independently and as part of a team. The Program Officer will oversee the day-to-day management of the Tipping Point grant to ensure smooth implementation and compliance with donor reporting and financial requirements.  In addition, this position will provide overall administrative and programmatic support to the Tipping Point team. Responsibilities will include coordinating meetings and events (logistics, IT, note-taking); maintaining team file repositories and list-serves and websites; and managing consultant contracts and procurement processes. The Tipping Point project is an exciting multi-country initiative focused on addressing child, early, and forced marriage (CEFM). For more information on the project check out: The Program Officer will actively support communications and knowledge management functions in the unit, and keeping the team’s information on internal websites current.  She/he will work directly with all the Tipping Point project team members as well as colleagues in teams based in Bangladesh and Nepal, and will collaborate with other units, departments and staff to ensure smooth coordination of the team with other parts of the organization. She/he will also be responsible for providing backstopping support to other programming initiatives in line with the Tipping Point project priorities as necessary.  This Program Officer will keep up to date in general knowledge and understanding of the Gender Justiceunit’s programming and priorities, and will be able to represent the Gender Justice (GJ) unit and its activities to other CARE departments and external agencies and individuals. The Program Officer requires proficiency in grants and project management skills and tools. Responsibilities: Operational and Administrative Support and Coordination Supporting the Project Director with Donor Stewardship Financial Tracking Supporting Communication,  Information and Knowledge Management Contracts management Gender Justice unit membership Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business/project administration and management, or related fields.  At least 2 - 4 years of professional experience in not for profit organizations 2-4  years’ experience in coordinating and/or managing multiple projects or processes simultaneously 2-4  years’ experience in financial management Knowledge of communication tools Superior organizational skills Advanced written and oral communication skills in English Knowledge of donor policy and procedures Project coordination and management skills and expertise, detail oriented Expertise in budget planning, management and reporting Demonstrated teamwork coordination and facilitation skills Demonstrated high degree of flexibility in managing changes to scope, resources and timelines Excellent relationship management and communication skills; a sense of humor Expert ability to identify, mitigate and/or escalate issues and risks Ability to influence without direct authority and obtaining win-win situations Ability to envision what needs to be done and conceptualize an approach for how to get it done in in a timely fashion while maintaining quality Proficiency in Miscrosoft Office Suite, Peoplesoft financial software and software such as MS Project or Asana for project plan development, management and reporting
