We are looking for: A passionate and experienced florist (flower arrangements)

Location: Cusco, Peru

Hours: Part time - 20 hours per week

Salary: Local living salary/Stipend


The main responsibility of this role is to train a small group of young women and mothers aged between 15 - 18 years, to create flower arrangements and decorations for the social enterprise Arte Floral. The young women are residents of Casa Mantay and it is aimed that through the training they would acquire the skills necessary to be able to secure jobs in the sector once they leave the home. This role also includes ensuring that all orders from clients are fulfilled.

About Casa Mantay:
La Casa de Acogida Mantay was created in 2000 as a home for adolescent mothers between 12 and 18 years old, coming from various areas across the south of Peru. The mothers are placed with us at the request of state entities as a protection measure. Casa Mantay offers accommodation, food, clothing, health and psychological care, education, career guidance, and legal advice to all the mothers and their children. Our objective is to give these young women the opportunity to enjoy motherhood in a safe environment while also supporting their personal development and working towards their active participation in society.

About Arte Floral:

Arte Floral is a unique and innovative social enterprise centered on the creation of decorative flower arrangements by young mothers living in Casa Mantay. It was set up in 2014 with the primary objective of training the mothers in floristry while also providing a salary so that they can achieve economic independence in the company of their children. As a social enterprise supporting Casa Mantay, it also generates funds for the house through the sale of its products at markets and to hotels for special events such as weddings.

Intermediate/Advanced level of spoken Spanish

Creativity and experience in creating high quality flower arrangements for hotels, restaurants and special events (weddings, conferences, etc.)

Experience and a passion for training young women in flower arrangements

Responsible and able to meet deadlines and fulfilling orders
