It has continued to highlight obstacles that exist in accessing health care and has secured sustainable improvements in health-for-all policies. Those working for this independent organisation do not solely dispense care and treatment but condemn violations of human dignity and rights and fight to improve matters for populations living in precarious situations. MdM currently works in 44 countries across all continents where it focuses on 4 priority areas: caring for the health of migrants and displaced persons, promoting sexual and reproductive health, harm reduction associated with drug use, emergencies and crisis.Since November 2015 MdM supports through preventives and curatives Primary Health Care (PHC) and Mental health and Psychological Support (MHPSS) activities in 2 camps in Dohuk Governorate.
MdM is running mobile clinics for a PHC & MHPSS care in the newly liberated areas of the Sinjar District particularly.
In August 2016, MdM made an assessment in the Ninewah Governorate in order to support health services in two districts (TelAfar and TelKaif).
In Kirkuk governorate, two mobile clinics have been launched in July 2015; while a third one started in April 2016 and a fourth in July 2016.
Kirkuk Governorate remains a fragile context in terms of security and political issues.
The activities in both Dohuk and Kirkuk Governorates are based on Basic Package of Health Services including sexual and reproductive health within the primary health care, mental health and psychosocial support, health promotion.**


As the health program coordinator, you work under the supervision of the field coordinator and supervise the implementation of health activities including mental health. You work in close collaboration with the medical coordinator and mental health coordinator on the health strategy for projects, quality of activities, technical choices to be make and reporting obligations.

More precisely, the activities are to:
-Contribute to the progress and advancement of the current activities, as well as the development of new interventions based on identified needs
-Participate in the strategy development of the mission
-Ensure proper assessment, implementation and monitoring of health programs
-Ensure follow-up and analysis of epidemiological data
-Ensure the respect of internal rules and procedures
-Provide support to the medical manager and the mental health supervisors
-Prepare job profiles and participate actively in the hiring process
-Identify the training needs of the team and address them (organizational and medical support, methodology, organization of training sessions…) in close collaboration with the medical manager and mental health supervisor
-Participate in the construction of the organizational chart of the team
-Ensure appropriate storage of medications, medical consumables and equipment
-Represent the organization and ensure that good relations are maintained with stakeholders, local authorities, DoH, and other NGOs active at the site of intervention
-Ensure that the safety plan is known and that safety rules are respected
-Contribute to data collection on security issues and disseminate them to the field coordinator regularly


Status : Employee

Contract : Fixed-term contract

Duration : 6 to 12 months

Starting date: 17th of August 2017
Based in Kirkuk with regular visits to Erbil

Nurse, midwife or medical doctor, Master in Public Health would be an asset
Experience in health project management, and monitoring and evaluation
Experience with Primary Health Care and Sexual & Reproductive Health programs
Experience in negotiations with local authorities, partners and staff in a critical and stressful context
Ability to handle multiple tasks at once and conflicting priorities
Ability to live in an area with security and movement constraints
Patience, flexibility and diplomacy
Ability to transfer competences and provide capacity building
Languages: Fluent English is mandatory
French/Arabic/Kurdish is an asset
Knowledge of the Pack Office (Word, Excel)
