Currently Nutrition International is seeking applications for:

Deputy Regional Director, Asia

As a senior member of the Nutrition International Asia Management Committee, this position will be responsible for contributing to the overall management of Nutrition International’s operations within the region including: strategy development, grant management, financial management, human resources, external relations and resource mobilization. Specifically, this position will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of a major multi-country, multi-year grant (and other grants as required), ensuring the quality of design, annual planning, performance measurement, reporting and modifying project interventions as necessary to ensure overall success of the grants. This position will directly supervise a number of the regional staff including technical advisors and support the Regional Director, as required, to supervise Country Directors. This is a leadership position that will be required to promote and uphold Nutrition International culture and values to Nutrition International staff, including fostering a spirit of excellence and innovation within the organization. Supervision of regional technical advisors including Research and Evaluation, Adolescent and Women of Reproductive Age (WRA) and Behaviour Change Communication (BCC)

Responsibilities will include: • Support overall implementation of the Nutrition International strategic plan within the Asia region • Regional Grant Management • Finance and budgeting • Oversight of selected regional technical functions

Requirements include: • At least 10 years of programme management experience at senior level including proven experience managing major donor grant-funded development programs, preferably in nutrition, maternal and child health and/or public health • Strong leadership skills and proven ability to motivate, support and provide oversight of multi-national, multi-disciplinary teams • Strong budgeting and financial management skills • Experience working in Asia especially in Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Pakistan and Philippines • A postgraduate level degree preferred in public health and nutrition, project management or other related • Extensive- up to 30-40% of time • Travel may be both national, regional and international • Superior communications skills (oral and written) including good technical writing and presentation skills is essential • Fluency in English - both reading and writing – is essential • Knowledge of other languages spoken in Asian countries supported by Nutrition International would be an asset • Experience of working in multi-functional teams in multi-cultural contexts
