Austria: Assistant to the International Director Fund Development (f/m) - VIENNA

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Manages required operational and administrative aspects for the Office of the International Director (ID) of Fund Development and its Management Team, including but not limited to maintaining the schedule of the ID, general correspondence, coordinating/managing the Budget, organising meetings and managing virtual collaboration platform;

  • Provides content support for the International Director Fund Development in the preparation of meetings and business trips in relation to communications and presentation materials

  • Coordinates the planning and implementation of strategic objectives within FD with relevant stakeholders and ensures follow up as required

  • Maintaining good communications and relationships with different stakeholders internally and externally.

  • Coordinates FD relevant projects and provides content support as necessary


  • Bachelor Degree in a relevant area

  • At least 3 to 5 years of professional experience in a relevant setting ideally within an international NGO with a similar focus as SOS Children´s Villages International

  • Experience in project management and/or providing administrative support and oversight ideally relevant to fundraising including strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to multitask and judge priorities under tight deadlines

  • Demonstrated ability to ensure total discretion, confidentiality and strong personal skills

  • Experience in dealing with senior officials/stakeholders inside and outside the organization ideally in a non-profit setting

  • Experience working in a team within a multicultural setting and demonstrated ability to communicate and interact responsively and tactfully with staff at all levels with a high level of professionalism diplomacy and discretion

  • Used to work independently and proactively using sound judgment and problem-solving skills in dealing with unexpected situations often within tide deadlines

  • Oral and written fluency in English is required; German would be a distinct advantage.

  • Highly proficient in the use of Internet and standard software

  • Strong work ethics with a professional outlook and high levels of discretion

  • Applicants must hold a valid Austrian working permit or be eligible to work within the EU
