Sosyal Araştırma ve Rehabilite Derneği (SARD) is a humanitarian non-profit agency that provides emergency relief, rehabilitation, development assistance, and program services to vulnerable communities.

SARD is solely dedicated to reducing human suffering and is non-political and non-sectarian in its mission.

Interventions include food support, Non-Food Items (vouchers for kitchen sets and clothes), winter assistance for clothing and fuel, emergency rehabilitation of houses and buildings, water and sanitation services.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

In his/her field of competence, the Program Support Officer pro-actively follows up the implementation of SARD projects. Duties and responsibilities are organised around two main aspects of the activities:

  • The infrastructure related to field activities including minimum emergency shelter and WaSH interventions in collective and individual shelters, ensuring that the needs of the most vulnerable population of concern are addressed.

  • The Information Management related to program activities implemented by SARD

The program Support Officer works under the supervision of the Head of Infrastructure Section.

Infrastructure activities:

  • The Program Support Officer main tasks are to support SARD Infrastructure Section for the implementation of Shelter and WaSH activities and the management of the data and information related to the program activities, activities described in the SARD Operation Manual.

  • The Program Support Officer will also support the Infrastructure section in the follow up of the monitoring to ensure that works are implemented according to plans

  • The Program Support Officer will have regular contact with field staff, and will undertake cross border trips in order to ensure adequate follow up and technical support related for infrastructure activities.

Information Management activities:

  • The Program Support Officer will collate field data and information collected by the field.

  • Using IM tool, the Program Support Officer will support geographic data visualization, mapping of the activities and any other relevant information management tasks. The Program Support Officer is responsible to report and liaise with the Information Manager of all clusters related to SARD on-going activities

Other activities:

  • When required, the Program Support Officer will second the Infrastructure Section Manager.

  • The Program Support Officer will work in close coordination and cooperation with all SARD team members.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • University degree in Information Management, Civil engineering or a related field from an accredited academic institution.

  • Minimum two years of relevant professional experience, working with NGOs experience is considered as an asset.

  • Strong competence and experience in data collection and information management and visualization methods and tools. Computer/software literate, advanced skills in MS Offices and Data management tools such as KOBO, ODK and ArcGIS. Knowledge of Engineering and Architecture software such as AutoCAD and other tools is an asset.

  • Understanding of contemporary trends and innovations in the field of operations in conflict environments and familiarity with the Syrian context, excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to establish effective and working relations with field staff and other stakeholders.

  • Fluency in Arabic is a must, English language is an asset.

Type of appointment: Short-term Turkish national contract, 6 months renewable (Depending on performance and availability of funds).

Salary range: Based on Experience and SARD salary scale.
