Oxfam is currently looking for a highly skilled accountant to support us in reporting on our International Programme. This will have a particular focus on identifying and communicating risks and issues to senior management in a changing environment where much will depend on building collaborative relationships with country and regional staff in Oxfam GB and in affiliates.

In addition to leading on reporting, this post will also actively support the Finance Controller (Analysis & Reporting) with the planning and year-end processes.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a big impact in the short term.

What skills & experience are we looking for?

  • Recognised accountancy qualification e.g. ACA, ACCA or CIMA or equivalent

  • Proven accountancy experience and knowledge of budgeting and reporting

  • Specific experience of planning, reporting and financial analysis

  • High level of computer literacy including use of spreadsheets

  • Able to travel internationally (2 to 3 weeks a year)

Success however will not just depend on the technical skills - in a complex and dynamic environment like Oxfam, you will need:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others and build effective working relationships

  • Strong communication skills including fluency in written and spoken English

  • Excellent planning, organisation and coordination skills

  • Experience in training and coaching others
