  • Actively promote the integration of pharmacy into health programming, as well as the continuous improvement of medicines management.
  • Champion and support the development of a pharmaceutical Quality Management System.
  • Ensure that Quality Assurance information provided by the Global Pharmacy Team is timely, reliable and accessible.
  • Where Quality Assurance standards cannot be met due to operational constraints, work with health and operations teams to identify a suitable course of action and feasible mitigation actions.
  • Support the roll out of key organisational priorities in health programming (including Integrated Community Case Management of childhood illnesses, Newborn Care and “centenary commitments” to tackling pneumonia).
  • Ensure effective pharmaceutical support for new and ongoing humanitarian crises, including through the management of surge and technical personnel.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to the Pharmacist within the Emergency Health Unit.
  • Internal: work with stakeholders across Save the Children Alliance to build strong, collaborative relationships that work to common objectives, secure resources, create opportunity and improve the quality of Save the Children’s health programming, whilst mitigating risk.
  • Represent Save the Children in a range of forums, including private sector, governments and partners. Representation may be technical, fundraising, or advocacy related.
  • Support key advocacy issues, including Access to Medicines and Universal Health Coverage.
