MSF opened a regional reconstructive surgical program in Amman in 2006*. Very complex maxillo-facial, orthopedic and plastic surgeries are performed for patient victims of violence coming from Iraq, Yemen, Syria and Gaza. Facing a lot of chronic osteomyelitis, often with antibiotic resistant pathogens, MSF set up a stewardship program in Amman hospital in 2013. It is a 148 beds hospital.

*Since 2006, MSF admitted more than 4.500 patients and performed more than 10.000 surgeries.

MSF opened a trauma center in Aden* in 2012, focusing on victims of violence. After an intensification of war in 2015 and a huge increase of activity, the project stabilized in 2016 when MSF was able to open a microbiology lab within the hospital. The first results show a high proportion of antibiotic resistant pathogen in infected patients. A stewardship program began recently. The project manages acute traumatic injuries; it is a 65 beds hospital with 10 beds ICU.
