iMMAP is a pioneering humanitarian organisation leading the way forward in the effective use of information management practices and principles at the service of the humanitarian relief and development community.


The project seeks to improve protection of the most vulnerable in southern Syria by providing operational updates on population, specifically IDP, movements and humanitarian protection conditions as well as reviewing existing policies & procedures of Jordan-based implementing partner to develop effective practices regarding complaints mechanisms and beneficiary data management. The successful candidate is responsible for methodological definition and coordination of the provision information management (IM) support, specifically data management and visualization, to ultimately facilitate decision-making.


➢ With support from the IM unit and in consultation with the assessment coordination and reporting units, identify information and data needs;

➢ Identify, collect, compile and integrate external data sources;

➢ Lead the development and maintenance of baseline datasets and templates, application of standard data management operating procedures, and ensure agreed upon standards and branding;

➢ Collaboratively conceptualize data verification, triangulation and aggregation methodologies by leveraging effective practices and lessons learned from other initiatives;
➢ Participate in technical coordination/working groups to introduce initiative, promote sharing of existing methodologies, tools and datasets, and facilitate harmonization or adoption of refined versions of these, based on consultations;

➢ Cross-check the triangulation and aggregation of collected data, thereby ensuring regular updates and solving eventual discrepancies;

➢ Manage the design, development and maintenance of the database and Power BI dashboard, incl. structure, content, file location and back-up system;

➢ With support from the GIS officer & graphic designer and IM officer, ensure all GIS tools are interfaced with database and dashboard;

➢ Lead the provision of supplemental data management support focused on complaints mechanisms and beneficiary data sharing: research existing tools and practices, identify needs and respective strengths/areas for improvement, and develop recommendations for a comprehensive and standard solution;

➢ Oversee the maintenance of software and hardware inventory required for data management tasks;

➢ Perform any other duties as required.


➢ Represent the iMMAP country office with national and international partners, donors, and media, and participate in local stakeholder engagement as appropriate;

➢ Maintain effective and positive internal contacts with iMMAP country and regional representatives, external contacts with national and local government officials, international non-governmental organizations (NGOs), donor agency officials, vendors, media and the general public;

➢ Follow iMMAP's branding regulations required for marketing or branding of all iMMAP products and correspondence.


➢ Follow security protocols as laid down by the iMMAP Global Security Advisor.


➢ As part of the iMMAP commitment to organizational learning, and in support of the understanding that learning organizations are more effective, efficient and relevant to the communities they serve, it is expected that he/she will commit 5% of their time to learning activities that benefit iMMAP, as well as individual professional development.


➢ iMMAP team members are expected to support all efforts toward accountability, specifically to beneficiaries of iMMAP programs, and to international standards guiding relief and development work, while actively engaging beneficiary communities as equal partners in the design, monitoring and evaluation of field projects.

He/she will work under the direct supervision of the project project lead, as well as with iMMAP country, regional and headquarters-based Operations, Administration/Finance and Technical Support units.


Internally, he/she will work closely with the project lead, assessment coordination and units, as well as Jordan area manager. Externally, he/she will be expected to liaise with international and Syrian partners, notably IM focal points in NGOs, UN agencies and clusters.


➢ Master degree in political science, international affairs, statistics or related discipline;

➢ 10 years’ experience in research, assessments, monitoring, evaluation and/or programs, preferably in the field of humanitarian information management;

➢ Knowledge of MS Excel and Power BI or other visualization tools;

➢ Excellent analytical skills;

➢ Demonstrable project management skills, incl. team management

➢ Ability to operate in cross-cultural environment and work independently;

➢ Familiarity with the aid system and an understanding of donor requirements;

➢ Prior knowledge of the region an asset;

➢ Fluency in English required.
